summer doldrums

We’re back from our vacation, and now there are long hot weeks of summer to get through. The kids are back in camp, the garden is weedy as hell because it’s too hot to weed, and we’re spending most weekends at the pool, trying to stay cool.

What have you found to do this year to get through the summer doldrums?

Doldrums?! I *wish* for doldrums! Summer just started here on July 5 (before that it was cold and rainy), and every day that passes reminds me that IT’S GOING TO BE COLD AGAIN SOON! Like, in five more weeks! Which means I only have five more weekends to play! I feel panicked about getting in a year’s worth of camping/floating/hiking/biking/swimming/canoeing etc. in just 5 weekends!

We’re almost done with camp now (E has one week of afternoons still on her calendar) so it’s the pool, and avoiding looking out the window at the weeds running rampant in 90-something heat, and hopefully not too much wii.

I’ve got those same weeds, growing in my garden. Seriously, it’s getting embarrassing.

I saw “summer doldrums” and started ROTFLMAO. Think I better write a blog post…..
